Sticky notes

Look at this.  Immediately.

It is the cutest set of mini sticky notes ever. In their own little case!  And so cheap at £2.80 and free shipping.

Any stationery addict you know (which is everyone, let's face it) is going to love finding one of these in their stocking this Christmas. Don't buy them all, people, I haven't finished placing my order yet.

In-trays and document sorters

Letter trays make me feel really organised.  I love the feeling of every piece of paper having a predetermined home...all you have to do is slot it in.

I use three wire mesh trays upstairs in my home office for current paperwork to do with my business, much like these.

One for receipts, one for copies of outgoing invoices, and one for contracts. I probably need more. I almost certainly need more, right?  Part of me reeeeeallly wants to have floor to ceiling document sorters in my home office, but I wonder if it might be slightly too much. Plus, I don't strictly speaking need quite that many slots for bits of paper.  Yet.

I'm also tempted by this acrylic multi-depth letter sorting system. It looks like it would organise all my problems out of existence just by sitting on my desk.

These other clear trays are similar but on a more appropriate scale for my home office. Petite and bijou.

I am currently musing about whether I should use letter sorters for my household paperwork. At the moment I just have an in-pile consisting of letters from school, catalogues I keep meaning to look at, bills that need attention, and so on...the shame of it! For household stuff I prefer a friendly, less-businesslike feel, so I'm looking at these for inspiration.

Desk tidies

Desk tidies are a great gifts - a useful gift which they will likely see every day.  Obviously these can be gifts for men or women, but if you have a particularly hard-to-buy for man in your life, these might well be a good idea.

I bought this Rubik's Cube pen pot for my husband and have stashed away this Lego art carousel for my son for Christmas.

I have a lot of cool geeky men in my life, so I am also looking carefully at this cassette tape tidy and fantastic Tetris desk set for brothers, friends, and Secret Santa gifts at the office.

These sharpeners are adorable. Totes adorbs.  Adorballs, one might say.

I'm also quite smitten with these wooden desk organisers.  They both look beautiful.  They would both be good gifts for men or women, I think - kind of classic and unisex.

There are also, of course, more feminine desktop organisers out there.  I'll be honest, I'm looking at these for me, really.  They might make it out the door to someone else if I'm feeling very generous or am temporarily incapacitated.  The white wooden desk tidy in particular has caught my eye, although the metal lacework in a close second.

Lovely expanding files

I have a real soft spot for expanding files. They are just so useful. And they make me feel efficient and organised, even on the really bad days.

I already have a stripy one for my son's medical stuff.  It is so handy having sections for things like asthma, allergies, physio, school medical stuff, and so on.  Slightly dull, though.  Maybe I need one of these Emma Bridgewater files, instead...so gorgeous.

If I was getting married, I would definitely use this file below to keep all the details of caterers and venue arrangements straight. In case you can't tell from the picture, it is an Emma Bridgewater 'Sampler' pattern, so it says 'Love' all over it.  Kind of perfect for a wedding file.

And these ones are just so pretty!

If I was working on a client project, I'd probably avoid a cutesy, pretty one, but I wouldn't mind showing up to a meeting with one of these.
